Preserving Arctic Integrity

With deep running connections to this land, we have grown to cherish the delicate yet powerful nature of Lapland. We aim to offer memorable experiences while preserving the unique natural values of our arctic area. This means for example conscious decisions about using recycled materials during construction.

We are investing in geothermal heating at the Resort, which will limit its energy consumption and lower the carbon footprint. It is built with respect towards the surroundings, without disturbing the traditional reindeer herding. At Jänkä Resort restaurant, we favor local, fresh ingredients and produce.

Revelatory Stillness

To us, stillness makes sense. It can move something inside of you, if you let it. There is no place better to experience revelatory stillness than Finnish Lapland, with its vast landscapes, rugged fells and unique flora and fauna. We have carefully considered our effect on the surrounding wilderness. For us, the reindeer, huskies and horses on the Ranch are family members, and treated as such.

Experiences are set on the terms of the animals and their well-being. If they are relaxed and happy, it will also affect our guests positively. But you don’t have to spend time with our friends on the Ranch to sense the stillness. It’s enough to arrive here to feel the calming presence of being truly close to nature.
