The Jänkä Resort & Ranch is located in Ylläs, 45 minute drive from Kittilä airport. Comprised of 13 premium villas, each with floor to ceiling windows and private hot tubs invite to experience ultimate relaxation without the crowds.
Surrounded by pristine wilderness, Jänkä Resort offers a chance to reconnect with nature. Horses, reindeer and sled dogs welcome visitors at The Ranch.

The Penthouse is a rooftop haven, offering ultimate comfort and privacy. The Townhouse combines elegant lodging and meticulous attention to detail with a cosy atmosphere.

We are Lapland locals from the village of Äkäslompolo. In the neighboring Ylläs, on land that has been in the family for decades, is Jänkä Resort.
Jänkä Downtown is about an hour drive Northeast, nested between the foot of Levi fell and Sirkka village.

How to get here
The closest airport is Kittilä (KTT) to both Jänkä Resort (45 min.) and Jänkä Downtown (15 min.) You can also fly to Rovaniemi (RVN), which is South of Kittilä and about 2 hour drive away.
The closest train station is in Kolari, an hour drive Southwest from Kittilä.

Geothermal energy is used to heat the villas and keep the energy consumption in check.

We are looking for one intern at a time to join our ranch team. The internship is suitable for students in tourism, animal care or horse studies.
During your internship, you’ll get involved in:
• daily care of our horses and reindeer
• animal activities and customer service
• everyday ranch tasks
• developing our activities and experiences
We’re looking for someone with a positive, proactive attitude who is eager to learn and enjoys working with both animals and people. 🤎
We provide:
– A supportive team and personal guidance throughout your internship
– Hands-on experience in Lapland tourism and working with animals
– Accommodation
– Meals
– An e-bike for your use

Jänkän takana on Kaulasen perhe, vanhemmat ja 4 tytärtä – Lappiin syvästi juurtunut perhe, jolla on valtava rakkaus tätä paikkaa, sen ihmisiä ja elämäntapaa kohtaan.
Hauska fakta: Sampon, meidän perustajamme, isoisä perusti ensimmäisen perheyrityksemme, Jounin Kaupan, jo vuonna 1950 – lähes 80 vuotta sitten, aivan samassa kylässä, jossa Jänkä Resort tänä päivänä sijaitsee!
Jänkä syntyi unelmasta rakentaa jotain aidosti omaa. Paikka, jossa Lapin ainutlaatuinen luonto, aito vieraanvaraisuus ja ripaus Kaulasen henkeä yhdistyvät paikaksi, jossa voi pysähtyä, palautua ja löytää uudelleen yhteyden itseensä ja ympäröivään luontoon.
Tämä on vasta meidän tarinamme alku. 🤎

Behind Jänkä is the Kaulanen family, parents with 4 daughters – a family deeply rooted in Lapland, with a love for this place, its people and its way of life.
Fun fact: Sampo’s (our founder) grandfather founded the first family business, Jounin Kauppa, back in 1950 – nearly 80 years ago in the same village Jänkä Resort is in!
Jänkä was born from a dream to create something truly our own: a place where the beauty of Lapland, genuine hospitality and a little bit of Kaulanen spirit come together to create a place for healing and reconnection.
